October 24
Has anybody here done the Comino Catalan that starts in Barcellona and joins the French Camino?
I am looking for information regrding the weather, accomodation tips, beauty and other challenges that may encounter on the way inorder to decide if to go on the french only or to start from Barcellona.
I have walked the Portougees during October 24 and the French during Sep. 2011. Would like to go again this March (2025) from Barcellona to Santiago.
Thank you!

Hello!
March is a good month to do the Catalan Way from Barcelona, but certain aspects must be taken into account:
From Barcelona to the Monastery of Montserrat there is hardly any infrastructure and there are very, very few pilgrims
From Montserrat you have good hostel infrastructure. Once in Tárrega there are two options to continue: Through Lleida (Lérida) and Zaragoza to Logroño, or through Huesca and San Juan de la Peña to Santa Cilia, which is now the French Way through Aragon.
I highly recommend the latter, since the hostels are insured and the landscape and historical places it passes through are spectacular.
The weather in March can range from cold to hot, from rainy to dry, so it is unpredictable, but in general terms it is usually a good month for walking, since temperatures during walking hours are usually optimal.
Regarding the number of pilgrims: it may be lonely and you will not see any more pilgrims or you may meet four or five, it is also unpredictable. In any case there will be very few.
You can read in the Forum dedicated to the Catalan Camino, consult the comments of the hostels and study the Camino guide here in Gronze.

Hi Dorit.
I did it last 2021, i was alone from Barcelona to Logroño, I was the only one pilgrim in route.
From barcelona you can read this link
https://www.gronze.com/camino-santiago-catalan
From monserrat you can follow the next link
https://www.gronze.com/camino-santiago-catalan
When you are in Monserrat hostel there is a list with albergues from monserrat to Logroño where you connect with french. ( that list is better than gronze guide)
When you are in Tarrega you will decide if you go to Lerida or Huesca.
if you have more question you feel free to ask us.
see u.
