Best Routes for Pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago
Hi fellow pilgrims,
I’m planning my first Camino de Santiago journey and I’d love to get some insights from those who have already completed it. I’ve heard a lot about different routes, like the Camino Francés and the Camino Portugués, but I’m unsure which one might be best for a first-timer.
Can anyone share their personal experiences and thoughts on the best route for someone new to the pilgrimage? I’m looking for advice on things like the difficulty level, the scenery, and overall experience. Also, if you’ve used the information and resources on Gronze to plan your route, how helpful did you find it in terms of stages and accommodations?
I’ve also been exploring the use of Generative AI Training to assist with travel planning and route optimization. Has anyone here used AI-based tools to enhance their Camino journey? I'd love to hear about your experiences with combining technology and tradition for the perfect pilgrimage!
Thanks in advance for your help! I’m really excited to embark on this adventure, and your insights will be invaluable!

You don't need any technology, you need your a feet and light backpack.
Buen Camino!
As my fellow pilgrim says, the French Way is the best way to begin the Camino de Santiago. It depends on how many days you have available to complete the route and also the time of year. The French section from Roncesvalles lasts 30 to 31 days, provided you don't have any injuries or blisters on your feet.
